Corporation Mayor P Indhira hospitalised with injuries during LDF-UDF scuffle in Kannur

Kannur, March 11 -- Kannur Corporation Mayor P Indhir was admitted to Kannur district hospital, following injuries and fatigue, after a scuffle broke out between LDF and UDF councillors, on Tuesday.

CPI(M)-led LDF activists organised a siege in front of the Corporation office, accusing the civic body of "obstructing development works" initiated through the MLA funds of the Registration and Museum Minister and Kannur MLA, Ramachandran Kadannappally.

UDF councillors, led by Mayor Indhira, attempted to enter the Corporation building through the main gate, LDF activists blockaded the ruling Councilors, which led to an altercation and scuffle around 9:45 hrs. Later, UDF councilors and the Mayor entered through the back side of the building.
