Bhubaneswar, Sept. 21 -- A lawyer must first convince himself or herself about the merits of a case, back the argument with documents and judicial precedents, and then persuade the court, Orissa High Court judge Justice Aditya Kumar Mohapatra said.
"A lawyer has to listen to the client, examine the legal issues and weigh the possibilities before arguing a case before the court," Justice Mohapatra said while addressing the 16th Orientation Programme yesterday for new students of the SOA National Institute of Law (SNIL), faculty of legal studies of SOA Deemed to be University.
