Bengaluru, May 18 -- Former MP D. K. Suresh on Monday said the Congress would not allow the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise to be carried out in Karnataka in the manner it was implemented in West Bengal, alleging that it could affect voters' rights.

Addressing reporters here, Suresh said the SIR process could not be stopped entirely, but stressed that people must remain vigilant to safeguard their voting rights.

He said the Congress party was conducting awareness meetings and training programmes for party workers to ensure there was no confusion regarding the revision process and to protect the rights of voters in the state.
