Mumbai, June 25 -- Maharashtra Congress spokesperson Gopaldada Tiwari has warned that the alleged denial of development funds to constituencies represented by opposition MPs could trigger a civil disobedience and non-cooperation movement against the ruling NDA.

Tiwari said that MPs elected on the mandate of the opposition alliance and later joining the BJP-led ruling coalition were betraying the trust of the voters who had elected them. He alleged that some defecting MPs had publicly justified their decision by claiming that development works in their constituencies were being stalled due to a lack of government funding.
