Bengaluru, March 28 -- Karnataka Legislative Council Leader of the Opposition Chalavadi Narayanaswamy on Saturday alleged that the Congress had turned Muslims into a vote bank and said sections of the community had been politically misled over the years.

Speaking to reporters here, Narayanaswamy said he was not claiming that all Muslims would vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), but maintained that the Congress had cultivated fear and dependency among minority voters for political gain.

He said Muslims in India were living securely under the Constitution framed by B R Ambedkar and asserted that the BJP was committed to "equal share and equal justice" for all communities.
