New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- The Congress on Wednesday announced an expanded nationwide campaign on youth and student issues, with the party's top decision-making body deciding to take its "Chhatron Ki Goonj" campaign to nearly 800 cities and towns as it sharpened its attack on the BJP-led government over unemployment, examination irregularities, alleged theft of Ram Mandir donations and the situation along the India-China border.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), chaired by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge at Indira Bhavan, with Congress general secretary (organisation) K C Venugopal saying that the party would take the concerns of students and young people to the grassroots.
