New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh on Friday intensified the party's attack on the Centre's proposed amendments to the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) framework, rejecting union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's defence of the changes and alleging that the government was weakening the statutory protections that underpinned India's globally acclaimed digital payments ecosystem.
