Hyderabad, Nov. 5 -- BJP National Vice-President Ram Madhav on Thursday accused the Congress party and its leader Rahul Gandhi of conducting a smear campaign against the BJP and the Election Commission by raising allegations of EVM manipulation and vote theft following electoral defeats.
Addressing the media here, he said the Congress was attempting to undermine the country's democratic institutions by questioning the Election Commission and the electoral process. He alleged that the party was spreading misinformation about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, clarifying that electoral roll revisions had been conducted several times since 1952, with the last major exercise in 2004.
