Mumbai, Sept. 15 -- Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee senior spokesperson Atul Londhe today alleged that even as farmers were facing financial distress due to insufficient rainfall, the state government had failed to provide adequate assistance.
"Farmers in Maharashtra are facing a severe crisis due to inadequate rainfall, with the Kharif season badly affected and concerns mounting over the prospects of the upcoming Rabi season," he said.
He further said the state had received around 25 per cent less rainfall than the average this year, resulting in damage to standing crops in several regions.
