Bhubaneswar, April 21 -- AICC spokesperson Mahima Singh on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Centre over the proposed amendment to the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, terming it a "conspiracy against women's empowerment" and accusing the BJP of politicising a crucial reform.
Addressing the media, Singh alleged that the Nari Shakti Vandan Act Amendment Bill, 2026 was introduced not to strengthen women's representation but to serve political interests.
She claimed that following setbacks in Parliament, the BJP-led government has resorted to aggressive outreach campaigns and misinformation to regain ground.
