New Delhi, June 26 -- : The Congress on Friday expressed deep sorrow over the death of three workers who allegedly died of asphyxiation after inhaling toxic gases while cleaning a septic tank at a factory in Mundka Industrial Area of the national capitalThe party termed the incident a result of administrative negligence and the failure to enforce workplace safety standards.
Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav said it was extremely unfortunate that workers were still being assigned hazardous cleaning jobs without adequate safety equipment, gas detection systems, or trained rescue personnel. He stated that repeated incidents of this nature clearly demonstrate the failure of the concerned authorities to ensure the safety of workers.
