Hyderabad, April 17 -- The Congress party on Friday criticised the BJP over the handling of the Women's Reservation Bill, alleging that the Centre has diluted its intent by linking it with the issue of delimitation.
In a statement released on Friday, Telangana Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka expressed these views, stating that the move reflects a lack of genuine commitment to women's empowerment.
Invoking the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, she said that both the goal and the means to achieve it must be just, and accused the BJP of deviating from this principle. She argued that if the government was sincere, it could have implemented reservations without complicating the process.
