Thiruvananthapuram, May 14 -- The Congress high command is expected to announce Kerala's next Chief Minister on Thursday after a series of crucial consultations in New Delhi aimed at ending days of uncertainty over the leadership issue in the state.

A key meeting between Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi was held in Delhi on Wednesday evening to finalise the decision. Soon after the meeting, Congress general secretary in charge of communications Jairam Ramesh said discussions on the Chief Ministerial selection had been completed and that the official announcement would be made tomorrow.
