New Delhi, April 9 -- The Congress on Thursday criticized the Centre following reports that India will no longer host the 2028 United Nations Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP), calling the move a reflection of the government's "true commitment" to global climate obligations.
In a statement, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said the decision marked a sharp departure from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement on December 1, 2023, in Dubai, where he had declared that India would host the prestigious global climate summit in late 2028.
