Hamirpur/New Delhi, Aug. 27 -- Former union Minister and BJP leader Anurag Singh Thakur on Thursday strongly opposed the proposed lottery tender in Himachal Pradesh, questioning the Congress government's priorities and warning that such a move could have serious implications for the future of the state's youth.
Thakur said in a statement that the Congress had made major employment commitments to the people of Himachal Pradesh before the Assembly elections, including a promise to provide five lakh government jobs. Instead of fulfilling those commitments and creating sustainable opportunities for young people, the government was now moving towards a lottery system that could encourage a culture of quick money and gambling.
