Mumbai, Aug. 31 -- Congress MLA Amin Patel from Mumbadevi constituency today raised concerns over alleged deletion of voters' names during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Maharashtra, alleging lapses in the verification process by Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
Patel alleged that BLOs had failed to make proper visits to voters' residences before marking their details as "uncollectable". He further claimed that some voters were being threatened with deletion of their names from the electoral rolls.
Expressing concern over the possible exclusion of genuine voters, the Congress legislator said he would approach the court, if necessary, to ensure that eligible voters were not deprived of their franchise.
