Chandigarh, Aug. 11 -- Congress leader Pargat Singh has questioned the Punjab government's decision to tighten private school fee regulations, asking why stronger action was not taken earlier, given that the state already had a law governing annual fee increases.
Singh's comments came after the Bhagwant Mann government introduced a new framework this year that limits annual fee increases by private schools to 5% and provides for refunds in cases where schools have charged beyond the prescribed limits.
