New Delhi, March 19 -- Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Thursday expressed serious concerns over what he described as a "shockingly high number of vacancies" in key higher education regulatory bodies, while also outlining the Congress party's objections to the proposed Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan (VBSA) Bill, 2025.
In a statement posted on platform X, Ramesh said the issue of vacancies in institutions such as the University Grants Commission and the All India Council for Technical Education was highlighted in the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education's annual report on the Department of Higher Education, presented a day earlier.
