Thiruvananthapuram, March 20 -- The Indian National Congress (INC) has denied a ticket to senior leader and Lok Sabha member K. Sudhakaran in Kannur, with the party high command finalising Adv. T.O. Mohanan as its candidate from the constituency in the first list for the Kerala Assembly Elections 2026.

Sudhakaran's firm stand against the high command's decision that MPs should not contest had earlier put the party leadership in a tight spot.

The Congress on Thursday night released its first list of 37 candidates, approved by the Central Election Committee and announced by AICC General Secretary K. C. Venugopal.
