New Delhi, July 8 -- The Congress on Wednesday intensified its attack on the BJP-led Centre over the alleged theft of offerings at the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, holding Prime Minister Narendra Modi accountable for the appointments made to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and demanding its dissolution, a Supreme Court-monitored probe into the alleged irregularities, and the immediate arrest of the Trust's former General Secretary, Champat Rai.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in New Delhi, senior Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil alleged that the Prime Minister had personally selected members of the Trust, including Champat Rai, and therefore could not distance himself from the alleged wrongdoing.
