Dharwad, April 12 -- In a swift breakthrough, police in Karnataka's Dharwad district have arrested eight of the nine accused within 24 hours in connection with the murder of Congress youth leader Fairoz Pathan, officials said on Sunday.
The Sub-City Police cracked the case following intensive interrogation, identifying the role of the accused and launching a manhunt for the remaining accused, identified as Kaif, who is absconding.
Pathan was murdered at his residence in Hashmi Nagar in the Malapur area on Saturday night. Police said the killing was the result of personal enmity as well as disputes linked to real estate dealings.
