Bengaluru, July 27 -- Congress on Monday launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the appointment of Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani to head the Centre's high-powered task force on examination reforms, accusing the BJP of abandoning its own political narrative by entrusting a man it had "vilified" for years.

Sharpening its offensive, the Opposition said the decision exposed the BJP's "rank hypocrisy", arguing that the ruling party had repeatedly portrayed Nilekani and Infosys as being aligned with the Congress whenever it sought political mileage, only to now place him in charge of overhauling India's examination system.
