Bengaluru, April 4 -- A fresh political storm erupted in Karnataka on Saturday as the Congress launched a sharp offensive against the BJP, demanding an unconditional apology over its MP Pratap Simha's alleged derogatory remarks targeting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Escalating the confrontation, senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala termed the remarks "deeply insulting" and accused the BJP of crossing all limits of political decency. He asserted that the comments were not merely directed at Siddaramaiah but amounted to an affront on backward classes, Scheduled Castes and minorities.
