Karwar, Aug. 6 -- A fresh bout of factionalism has erupted in the Congress in Uttara Kannada, with Karwar MLA Satish Sail openly accusing senior party leaders of sabotaging younger legislators' ministerial ambitions and holding them responsible for the district's failure to secure representation in the Karnataka Cabinet.

Launching a scathing attack on the district's senior Congress leadership, Sail alleged that leaders who had earlier enjoyed ministerial office ensured that emerging legislators were kept out of the Cabinet, leaving Uttara Kannada without a minister despite the recent expansion.
