Bengaluru, May 30 -- Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Dr CN Ashwath Narayan has objected to the sudden removal of beneficiaries from the state government's guarantee schemes and alleged harassment of beneficiaries.
Speaking at a press conference at the BJP state headquarters "Jagannath Bhavan" on Saturday, he said the Congress government had promised to provide the Gruha Lakshmi scheme benefits to everyone.
"Did people ask for Gruha Lakshmi? Did people ask the Congress to provide Gruha Jyothi? Is the Congress paying from its own money? The benefits are being given from government funds and taxpayers' money. The Congress wanted votes, so it promised to give benefits to everyone.
