Thiruvananthapuram, May 7 -- The newly elected Congress MLAs in Kerala on Thursday passed a resolution authorising the party high command to take the final decision on the selection of the next Chief Minister, as intense discussions continued within the party following the UDF's sweeping victory in the Assembly elections.

The resolution was adopted at the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting held in Thiruvananthapuram in the presence of AICC observers Mukul Wasnik and Ajay Maken, who arrived in the state to oversee the leadership selection process.
