Udupi, July 31 -- Udupi District Congress Campaign Committee President Harish Kini has lodged a police complaint against BJP MLA Yashpal Suvarna, alleging that the legislator made defamatory and provocative remarks during a protest held in Udupi on July 28.
In his complaint, Kini has sought legal action against Suvarna, alleging that the MLA's speech contained statements that could disturb communal harmony and provoke clashes between political groups.
The complaint relates to a protest organised near the Jatka Stand, close to the Service Bus Stand in Udupi city, at around 11 am on July 28 against the Congress party and students who participated in the NEET-related protest.
