Patna, July 31 -- The Bihar Congress on Friday accused the state government of withholding the salaries of teachers and non-teaching staff working in aided madrasas and demanded the immediate release of their dues.
State Congress chief spokesperson Rajesh Rathore alleged here that the salaries of around 11,652 teachers and 1,500 non-teaching employees serving in 1,942 government-aided madrasas across Bihar had remained unpaid for the past six months.
Questioning the government''s intent, Rathore said the state must clarify whether it lacked funds in the treasury or whether the salaries were being withheld due to a lack of political will.
