Pune, Aug. 24 -- Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Legislative Council member Dr Neelam Gorhe on Monday criticised the Congress, saying the party should first introspect over objectionable remarks and incidents involving women by its leaders and workers before claiming to champion women's dignity and empowerment.
Gorhe said respect for women was not merely a political slogan but a social and constitutional responsibility.
Referring to the 1993 Tandoor case in Delhi, Gorhe underlined the responsibility of political parties towards women's safety.
