Kochi, Feb. 28 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan virtually inaugurated the Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited at Brahmapuram here on Friday in the presence of Suresh Gopi, union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism.

With the establishment of the plant, the state has taken a significant leap forward in the sustainable management of biodegradable waste, Pinarayi Vijayan said while inaugurating the facility.

He added that Kochi has become the first city in Kerala to commission a CBG plant for the treatment of biodegradable waste.
