Agartala, Aug. 14 -- The controversy triggered in Tripura following a complaint was filed seeking an FIR against former Chief Minister and CPI(M) leader Manik Sarkar last night after he made alleged remarks about a recent political instigation of cadres.
The complainant submitted to the Officer-in-Charge of Sidhai Police Station, alleging that Sarkar's statements might exacerbate the current agitation and fuel tension in the state. These remarks reportedly criticized the handling of the movement under Sarkar's leadership and claimed they might incite political unrest and disturb public peace.
