New Delhi, Aug. 1 -- The Fencing Association of India (FAI) has appointed Bharatji Thakor of Gujarat as the Head of Delegation for the Indian team participating in the Commonwealth Fencing Championship, scheduled to be held in Lagos, Nigeria, from August 9 to 13, 2026.

According to an official communique, Bharatji Thakor has played a pioneering role in the development and promotion of fencing in Gujarat and is widely recognised for establishing the sport's strong presence in the state.
