Shimla, March 13 -- Clouds loom over the commercial supply of LPG cylinders in Himachal Pradesh as the shortage of cooking gas has begun to impact hotels, restaurants, dhabas and homestay units across the state, raising concerns within the tourism industry.

Hospitality establishments have reportedly been advised to explore kerosene-based fuel for catering purposes in view of the limited availability of commercial LPG cylinders. The development has created uncertainty among tourism stakeholders, particularly in major tourist destinations such as Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala and Dalhousie, where hospitality services depend heavily on LPG-based cooking.
