Berlin, June 13 -- Cologne has completed the permanent signing of English center-back Jahmai Simpson-Pusey from Manchester City, handing the 20-year-old a contract until 2030after his loan spell, the Bundesliga club announced.
Simpson-Pusey joined Cologne in January on loan from City, having spent the first half of the season at Celtic. He established himself in Cologne after a full debut in a 2-2 draw at Heidenheim.
The defender made 11 appearances for the club in the second half of the season, with his progress interrupted only by injury and a suspension following a red card.
Cologne sporting director Thomas Kessler said the club was convinced by both the player's adaptation and his longer-term potential, according to Xinhua.
