Agartala, Aug. 12 -- An allegation of sexual assault of a college student, happened to be a housewife, has triggered serious reaction in Agartala, and police launched an investigation into the incident, which reportedly occurred after the student left Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College on August 10.
According to reports, she was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted by a group of men. The victim was forced into a vehicle, subjected to gang rape, and then abandoned.
The incident came to light after the student and her family approached the police, and the exact sequence of events and the identities of the alleged perpetrators are expected to be determined through the police investigation.
