Mumbai, April 18 -- Tensions within the Mahayuti alliance have reached a boiling point as Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis openly challenged the handling of key portfolios under Deputy CM Eknath Shinde.

The long-simmering friction between the two leaders moved from hushed corridors to the forefront during a recent high-level review meeting.

Hundreds of stalled files in the Urban Development (UD) and Housing departments-portfolios currently held by Shinde, featured during the meeting.
