Lakshadweep/Kochi, Sept. 30 -- The Bharatiya Tatrakshak, in a joint operation with the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Gujarat, has intercepted an Iranian dhow in the Arabian Sea, west of Lakshadweep, and seized around 526 kg of heroin and methamphetamine valued at over Rs 3,000 crore in the international market.
The operation was launched on September 25 based on actionable intelligence regarding the movement of a suspicious vessel in the maritime domain, a release said here today.
Bharatiya Tatrakshak deployed sea and air assets for surveillance and maintained continuous tracking of the vessel before launching a hot pursuit and boarding operation.
