Hyderabad, June 11 -- union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Thursday said coal gasification would play a crucial role in achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat, while helping reduce India's dependence on imports in sectors such as fertilisers, chemicals, steel and energy.
Addressing the second Coal Gasification Roadshow organised by the Ministry of Coal at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), Kishan Reddy said the Centre has launched an ambitious coal gasification programme backed by schemes worth about Rs 46,000 crore, including a recently approved Rs 37,500-crore initiative aimed at accelerating large-scale projects across the country.
