Agartala, April 2 -- Tripura Natural Gas Company Ltd (TNGCL) has raised the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), which is utilised as fuel in the transportation sector, and Piped Natural Gas (PNG), which serves as cooking gas for households in Agartala and Udaipur, effective from last night across various slabs.
The TNGCL authorities clarified that the price increase is due to rising international natural gas prices, driven by disruptions to the supply chain caused by turmoil in West Asian countries. Additionally, the slowdown in the supply network and the significant rise in transportation costs over the past weeks have made the price hike of CNG and PNG at the consumer level unavoidable, stated the officials.
