Chennai, Oct. 21 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Wednesday paid tribute to police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty by laying a wreath at the Police Memorial at the DGP Office complex in the city, and later hiked the daily expenditure fund allocation to all police stations, allotting a total of Rs 71 crores per annum, in a bid to reduce their dependance on unofficial sources for funds.
On the occasion of police commemoeration day, he also praised the dedication, courage and commitment of the police force in maintaining law and order and protecting the public.
