Shimla, May 25 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday urged the people of the state to participate wholeheartedly in the Census-2027 exercise, describing the Census as the backbone of democracy and development.
The Chief Minister made the appeal during a meeting with Director Census Operations-cum-Citizen Registration, Himachal Pradesh, Deep Shikha Sharma, who called on him here and briefed him about various aspects of the upcoming Census exercise.
Sharma informed the Chief Minister that the Census would be conducted in two phases.
The first phase would comprise House Listing and Housing Census, while the second phase would involve Population Enumeration.
