Patna, June 3 -- Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary today expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the union Cabinet approved the four-laning of the Khagaria-Purnia section of National Highways 31 and 231 in Bihar.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Modi, approved the project to upgrade the 143.529-kilometre Khagaria-Purnia stretch into a four-lane highway at an estimated cost of Rs 3,936.05 crore. The project will be implemented under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model.
Welcoming the decision, Choudhary described it as a "historic step" towards Bihar's development and said the project would significantly strengthen connectivity in the Seemanchal and Kosi regions.
