New Delhi, April 27 -- : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday said the government has activated its Heat Wave Action Plan, issuing directions across departments as temperatures continue to hover above 42degC in the capital.

Addressing the media at the Delhi Secretariat, Gupta outlined a set of measures aimed at reducing public exposure to extreme heat. The government plans to provide cold drinking water in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses through onboard cold boxes. In addition, temporary water counters dispensing chilled water and oral rehydration solution (ORS) will be set up near bus shelters.
