Mumbai, April 12 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday paid heartfelt tribute to legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, describing her demise as a deeply sorrowful moment for the Mangeshkar family and the entire music fraternity.
Expressing his grief, Mr Fadnavis said the family had lost another shining star, noting that the passing of the veteran singer, a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan and Maharashtra Bhushan, was extremely painful. He recalled that she had celebrated her 90th birthday with great enthusiasm three years ago and said that with her demise, another luminary from the Mangeshkar household had faded after Lata Mangeshkar. "Today, the beautiful garden of melodies has become desolate," he remarked.
