Mumbai, May 12 -- The Maharashtra government has moved into "austerity mode" following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's nationwide appeal for fuel conservation amidst global supply chain disruptions.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has implemented strict measures to curb fuel consumption and administrative expenses across the state cabinet. The most significant change affects the movement of state ministers.

According to Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the administration has been issued clear instructions. No minister can use the government aircraft without the direct written permission of CM Devendra Fadnavis. Ministers have been advised to limit air travel to emergency situations only.
