Shimla, July 22 -- Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday announced a series of initiatives for Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), including a Rs 5 crore grant for launching a B.Tech programme in Artificial Intelligence and overseas exposure visits for students and faculty members.

Addressing the 57th Foundation Day celebrations of the university here, Sukhu said HPU would introduce new-age, employment-oriented courses in line with future technological requirements. He said the university would also be developed as the nodal agency for green hydrogen research in the state and urged it to align itself with emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing and data storage.
