Srinagar, Aug. 3 -- Cloudbursts and intense spells of rainfall triggered flash floods, damaged roads and affected several areas across Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officials said, while authorities remained on alert in view of the possibility of further rainfall.

A cloudburst was reported in the Batkoot area of Pahalgam in Anantnag district, where Wardbal Nallah and several nearby streams overflowed following intense rainfall. Minor damage was reported from the area, while the water level of Lidder Nallah rose sharply within a short span.

Another cloudburst was reported from the Arin-Dardpora area of Bandipora district, where roads were damaged at several locations. Assessment of other possible damage was underway, officials said.
