Bhubaneswar, Sept. 27 -- East Coast Railway (ECoR) collected Rs 5.89 lakh in fines in August 2026 for 3,028 cases related to activities affecting cleanliness at railway premises, marking a rise from the previous month.
In July, ECoR had booked 2,302 such cases and collected Rs 4.41 lakh. The increase in both cases and fines reflects intensified monitoring and enforcement across railway stations and premises.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) accounted for 2,392 cases and collected Rs 4.625 lakh, while the Commercial Department booked 636 cases and realised Rs 1.27 lakh across Khurda Road, Rayagada and Sambalpur divisions.
