New Delhi, July 14 -- India's para swimming contingent has suffered a setback ahead of the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, with para swimmer Tejas Nandakumar being ruled out after organisers declared him ineligible because of a classification issue.
The 20-year-old was part of India's squad announced last week and was scheduled to compete in the men's 50m freestyle S7 event. His entry had initially been accepted, but the organisers later withdrew it following a review by the international federation.
In a letter sent to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on July 9, the Glasgow Games organisers said Tejas no longer met the eligibility requirements after the classification validation process conducted after June 23.
