New Delhi, June 30 -- The Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of the North-East District has arrested a 26-year-old Delhi Civil Defence volunteer for allegedly impersonating as a Delhi Police constable by wearing a police uniform near Jawahar Nagar Picket in the Karawal Nagar area.
North-East DCP Rahool Alwal said the accused was apprehended after police received specific information during patrolling that a Civil Defence volunteer deployed at the SDM Office in Nand Nagri was posing as a Delhi Police officer. He said the accused falsely introduced himself as a constable posted at Karawal Nagar Police Station, but verification established that no such police personnel was posted there.
